Rainmaking Experiment #2

What:

Drawings of raining clouds. Chalk on stone, line drawings on soil, digital drawings on weather maps, etc.

Ritual:

I draw raining clouds mindfully on surfaces to invite the rain through its image. In one case I made a chalk drawing on a flat stone, which I placed in a bowl of water. New water was added regularly, and the cloud was redrawn after each rain.

Why:

A pictogram of a raining cloud, drawn with the intention to show gratitude for the rain and to remind myself and others about the possibility of rain. I added water in one case, as I found that to be a nice daily ritual, which would keep the stone’s base wet, imitating the effect of good rain.

Outcome:

Some rain, some time… because of these rainmakers? I do not know.
