Feeling grateful! I got a request for the use of some of my ephemeral nature art works as illustration for the webpage of a new project - paid of course. This is true support from a person who appreciates my art, recommends it and make sure it is valued appropriately.
This artwork - the past and the present stitched together - is part of their first selection. I will let you know which works make the final selection once the project is launched. With most of my art I work with a clear idea of the meaning or idea which I want to express. With my paintings this has changed over the past years. They simply give me joy, mostly in the process of painting, choosing colours, deciding the next step and eventually the final painting. They have no meaning, no message, just worlds of colour and dreams, mostly warm and soothing. Lovely winter morning outing with frosty -9°C. A slightly different one from my series 'Holding the Line: Stone Alignments' where I line up found stones with their einvironment. This is a pair with shifting focus. Intense - hopeful - transformative - three words to describe my current mood. Sketchbook practice is one of the most important source of inspiration and what truly moves an artist forward. For me my daily sketches are so full of freedom and anything can and does happen... it is one of my important wells from which I draw my creativity. I dream in colours | wild and bright | where shadows dance beneath the light | a place where dreams stay or die | a world created by my mind. As the year is coming to an end, my courses finished I am slowly unwinding and preparing for our trip to Namibia. And realising how many older projects are patiently waiting to be finalised, video documentation needs to be edited, texts written and presented... Ephemeral nature art, covering a part of a stone with sea algae, lining up with a natural line.
