“Untitled 1 & 2”
These images draw a parallel between a Namibian victim of racial violence and Iraqi victims of the current US led war. Both images are taken from the local press, with the outline of submissive dogs digitally superimposed on them. Both victims have been treated ‘like dogs’ with their dignity and life being reduced to equal or even less than a dog’s. They became meaningless statistics of casualties of race or power related violence. The drawings of dogs underlines the abuse and degradation these people had to suffer at the hands of other human beings.
